SOLVED A1379 CD/DVD drive will not mount ?

Periodically I need to take stuff off of CDs and DVDs.
Now I cannot get them into the drive. I'm plugged directly into the back of my iMac 27 retina 5K

What is the issue?

Hello,

-Does the USB SuperDrive inject the discs at all?
-Does it seem like the USB SuperDrive his getting power?
-Have you tried a different USB port?
-You could try: How to reset the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac
