Guys, I need expert help here!!

I have an iMac and recently, don't work the USB ports or the Bluetooth. How this affect me: I can't communicate with the computer!

I already tryed to connect a keyboard direct to de iMac, use another wireless keyboards, different types of mouses, tablets, etc. Nothing's working, I sended it to technical support and they told me it is something related with the mother chip, but i'm disagree because when I turn on the computer it ask me for a password as usually does.

Can any body help me?! I'm a graphic designer and I can't work!

Hello and welcome.

I would try an SMC reset:

Reset the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac

Reset the SMC on Mac desktop computers
Follow these steps for iMac, Mac mini, Mac Pro, and Xserve.
  1. Shut down the Mac.
  2. Unplug the power cord.
  3. Wait 15 seconds.
  4. Plug the power cord back in.
  5. Wait 5 seconds, then press the power button to turn on the Mac.
Let us know if that helps,

Hi Cory! Thank you very much for your response.

I just did what you suggest, and nothing :( I still can't communicate with the computer.

That was just to test to see if it is a software issue.

If the SMC reset and Startup Manager do not work, then it probably is a logic board/port hardware issue, which will require service/repair. Even if the ports aren't functioning, the iMac may startup to the login screen, but not allow you to login.

Sorry we couldn't solve it,

So, the EXACT SAME THING happened to my iMac last week and I've been panicked and upset.

So, um... did you ever figure out a solution to this???
