Hi,

i would like a shortcut to just open the preview with the clipboard contents.

Is this possible?

e.g. i press shift F9 -> then i can make a screen-capture and it opens the preview with that screen capture.

Thanks for your help.

If you open the screen shot application > go to 'Options' and from the 'Save to' menu select 'Preview'
Now when you do a screen capture the default action is to open it in Preview.

I do this differently in macOS Sonoma but, there are always multiple ways to do the same thing on a Mac.
Command + Shift + 5 opens the screen shot/video control panel.
I choose the selectable area option most often.
My prefs are set to Save to Desktop.
I click Capture and the image is saved to my desktop but, before that, the image minimises briefly to the bottom right corner of the screen.
Clicking on that takes me to Preview where I can Notate or Edit the image if necessary.
This suits my workflow, maybe not yours.🤷🏻
