I know there may be a lot of threads concerning same so please be kind!! My Safari browser was hijack this afternoon by one of those FBI/Cyber crimes sites demanding $300 to unblock. I have been online at work looking at ways to unblock and they all appear to have you Reset Safari form the Safari menu

Hello and welcome.

DO NOT click on the pop-ups or pay them...it is a scam. You can simply quit Safari and reopen it. It should then work normally. Resetting should work too, but you may lose stored passwords and such.

Let us know if you continue to have trouble.

Thanks for the reply, I know it's a scam and I have no intention of reacting to it. I have already tried the Quit Safari route and shutting down the computer, without any luck. I'm at a disadvantage here as I'm at work and the computer is at home. I will will retry whe I get home again.

No problem.

The Reset Safari steps seem to work. I would try that first, then let us know.
