Obsolete Apple ID for updates

My Wife bought updates first on her machine. Using her Apple ID, I upgraded later.

Her account is now inactive so I created my own new account.

My iMac wants to update Disk Doctor but requests Her password for Her ID in order to update.

It won't accept any password I enter for the inactive account.

I've tried to buy Disk Doctor on my new account and do a fresh download but ITunes will show me my new Apple ID, ask for that password, then disappear
and come back a little later, asking all over again?

Hello and welcome.

You can either try to recover her Apple ID account. Or, delete the Disk Doctor app from the Applications folder, then try to purchase it with your Apple ID.
