Mac won't sleep

I have an Emac 700 MHz Power PC G4, with 640 Mo SDRAM, running OS 10.3.9.
When I try to go to the sleep mode it keeps waking up. What's up ? Any idea on how I could correct this problem.

Hi there,

what devices are pluggec into your Mac ?

If they are unplugged, does it sleep ?

I have a printer, an external hard drive and a scanner. All of them are connected through a USB splitter (not enough USB ports on my Emac).
For some unknown reason the sleep mode is now again functionnal. Mystery to me.

Anyhow I did unplug a Lexar 128MB jumpdrive, perhaps this was the culprit ?
