Hello everyone, I recently picked up a g4 powerbook 17' off of a friend. He restored the book and installed Leopard from Tiger. I recently discovered that the optical drive will not read any type of disc (audio, video, software); the drive takes in the disc's makes a few attempts then spits them back out. The drive was working prior to the upgrade as the previous owner was able to use the restoration disc as well as the leopard install disc. Does anyone have an idea of what i can do here? Should I restore the book again and re-install Tiger? or is there a way to test the optical drive and or make changes....I am new to this so i appreciate any suggestions.
