I have a Powerbook G4, I'm running OS X 10.4.7. Recently my internal CD drive has been unreliable and rather than replacing it I was told it would be cheaper to just get an external cd drive, which I did (it's a Lacie, connects with firewire and can burn dual layer but I don't know what it is called exactly). It works fine for playing DVDs, but importing CDs to iTunes has become a bit of a problem.
When I put in a CD, the computer mounts it, iTunes sees it, and comes up with the tracklisting like it should. But when I try to import the CD, or even play the first track, iTunes freezes. It's a real pain.
I'd be very thankful if anyone could help me with this.
