iCal Error Message

I forwarded/ copies an email - somehow how I did - to my icalendar. The entire email is now on my ical. However, there is also a very long - shaped like a rectangle with the short side on the top and bottom. The message is 'The server replied with an error." the ICAL logo is in the top left. The entire email is printed/posted. top to bottom. I tried to delete the ical entry. I also tried to delete the long message. My computer remains stuck on my ICal. And I cannot post any new entries. I tried to restart my computer to clear and have a fresh start. The only thing that I did not do is reboot. Please help me. thank you.

-Which version of OS X?
-Is the event in your iCloud, Gmail, or other calendar?
-Do you have other Macs or iOS devices that you can see the event on?
-Can you post a screenshot of what it looks like?
-If you restarted, then you did reboot.
