Hi

A while ago my ibook 900 g3 12' logic board failed, and i have heard about connecting it up to another machine via firewire.

Obviously i dont want to buy another mac just to do this and dont have access to another one, so can this data transfer be done to a PC. If so what would i need? how would i do it?

are there any hard drive readers that work to USB like a photo card reader? What are the likely costs/names of these?

thank you in advance for your help

It would be difficult because the drive is formated for a mac and not pc (in simple terms). The PC probably would not be able to read the drive. Find a friend or library that has a mac with firewire, boot your laptop in target disk mode, and copy the files from there onto a CD or DVD.
