Foto's don't load in other websites

I can open Foto's on my mac, I can send one or more foto's to any website or mail them directly from my Foto's, but...
if I'm in a website and I want to choose a foto to insert on that special website: I cannot do it any more ? From the moment I click on Foto's: the charging wheel keeps running rounds without loading my Photos. I'm getting crazy about it... what did I do wrong, because that only happens since a few weeks. All my updates are ok... Help !
I am a layman in this area, so don't give me to difficult answers please

We'll need a bit more information first:

-Which version of OS X?
-Which version of Photos?
-Approximately how many photos do you have in Photos?
-Which browser are you using - Safari, Chrome, Firefox, etc.?

- OS X (Sierra 10.12.5)
- Foto's.app on mac
- 1950 foto's
- Safari or Firefox (I use both, works on no one...)
