Finder Preferences In Yosemite

Hey guys,

I have an odd situation in my new install of Yosemite, seeking your feedback.

This panel in the Finder preferences can't be edited.

That is, I can not choose what will or won't be shown on desktop. If I click on any of the options they immediately revert to the current option, those shown in the screenshot.

Anybody know anything about this?

Hmm, it worked for me. (I am uisng El Capitan). For "New Finder windows show:", I have my user account name there, but even when I changed it to "All My Files", it worked (I clicked off CDs, DVDs, and iPods). I have Hard Disks "enabled" (ie, checked), and Connected Servers unchecked.

Wonder if that Preference is somehow damaged. You might try and Repair Permissions (you can do that with Disk Utility), and see if that resolves the issue.
