cant burn OS X to dvd

Hi sall - new here today. Just picked up a 2006 Macpro and the previous owner has left the OS X dmg on desktop. Trouble is, when i go to burn it to dvd, i find the 4.7GB dvd is not big enough to copy the 5.5GB file! What can i do to reinstall??

sorted already - checked the thread on admin password lockout.Greenman - your couple of lines there have got me up and running!!
Here i go in to the world of the mac!!!....
