So I'm attempting to update my iphone 4 (previously running 5.0.1) to the latest update utilising my up-to-date itunes (10.6.3(25)) on my black 13" macbook (specs below)

Model Name: MacBook
Model Identifier: MacBook4,1
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
Processor Speed: 2.4 GHz
Number Of Processors: 1
Total Number Of Cores: 2
L2 Cache: 3 MB
Memory: 4 GB
Bus Speed: 800 MHz
Boot ROM Version: MB41.00C1.B00
SMC Version (system): 1.31f1
Serial Number (system): W88271FK0P2
Hardware UUID: FB54BFA7-429E-5103-AFF4-7E7075AD5DE3
Sudden Motion Sensor:
State: Enabled

and when the restore is about to finish, it pauses/freezes about 1mm from completing.....very infuriating! This is not the forst time it's happened, it's occurred on previous phones and versions of itunes and OS's....If I take it to the Apple store in the city, it works like a dream, I simply plug it into an available mac, and it flies, and updates.....

what I'm wondering is why I cannot do it from my own mac? Any ideas?
