I've just added a quick plug-in to the forum which may be useful, but it's a little hidden away so I wanted to make a quick mention in this post 
.
It's an "unanswered threads" button that should appear on the 2nd menu bar when you're viewing the forums. It displays any threads with zero replies in the past 30 days.
Hope that's a useful tool.
