Hi I've recently managed to wipe out my itunes library - but i have the
'tunes' on my ipod. Can i transfer them back to the itunes library?
    All help appreciated.

Yes, but you lose the play counts and stuff.

There are various tools around which will copy the music off on iPod onto
your hard disk (at which point you drag the music back into iTunes and let
iTunes sort it out). They'll either be free or shareware, but since all they
do is copy files from a folder hidden from the Finder, I'd be reluctant to
pay money :) Your mileage may vary.

In most cases though you'll need to enable the iPod for "disk use", and
you'll obviously want to prevent iTunes from syncing your empty library onto
    your iPod...

    Cheers,

    Chris
