Transfer Mac iTunes library to PC - possible ?

Discussion in 'UK Macs' started by john brennand, Dec 21, 2008.

  1. My thread below details the problems that my bro'-in-law is having with
his G4 iBook. Anyways, the upshot is that the only things he wants to
rescue are his photos and tunes. I have copied both directly onto a
flash drive and so they are saved!

Until we sort the iBook out, he would like to transfer them to his
daughter's PC lappy (Vista I think). The photos will be no problem
(jpegs) but will the tunes automagically run on iTunes in the PC if he
copies them into the library on the laptop? If not - can it be done and
if so how would you do it?

    TIA

He'll have to import them into the iTunes library on the Windows box. That's
    it.
Import the songs the same way you'd import any other songs. Select the folder
and mark it as the iTunes folder, or drag-and-drop, or whatever. If there are
any protected songs he'll have to authorise the Windows box.
