Started in Safe Mode, now what

When starting up, it never left the pin wheel gray background. I got it restarted in Safe Mode but I am not sure what to do next. I've been a PC guy up till now.

Hi there and welcome !

The best thing to try would be to run FSCK


At the prompt type:

Code:
/sbin/fsck -fy

then return.

Then once done, type:

Code:
Reboot

then return

Give that a go and let us know how you get on.

If you booted in safe mode by holding down "Shift" key it should boot to the desktop.
You could go to Disk Utilities and check HD or repair permissions.
Just booting into safe mode will fix things itself, by doing some HD repairs while booting.

Just restart and see if it starts up by itself
