can anyone help? My iBook battery died while I was writing a document, and I managed to come out and close down, but when I rebooted the document was corrupted and now I can't open it no matter how I try. 'only' 4500 words, but although I saved as I went, I didn't get round to a back up on disc. Any suggestions gratefully recieved as this will take me 2 weeks to rewrite.

Re: damaged file rescue

Try to copy one of the files, then drag the file onto the TextEdit icon and in the gibberish you get, try to scroll/search for your text and see if you can copy/paste it out.

Try the 30 day trial of this tool: http://www.panergy-software.com/products/lp/we/gn_op.html
See if it is able to open your document...

Let us know how it went :)
