root account

HI ALL
how can I activeat root acount if I don't have any admin acount on the computer and I can' creat one?

I had 1.4.2 system on a domain account .. all of the user is mobile account and lemeted and I have only the root as admin (actvited )
for some resones I reinstall the system and I keep the suer acounts and the network setting
when I restart the computer I found all user as is.. but the root account is not activeated
I can't log or change or creat any new account or change any thing
how can I reactivate the root account?

Hi there,

as far as I know you 'need' an admin password to enable you to create a root password...

...it sounds like you need to restart with the OS X DVD and then use the admin password reset...

this will allow you to enter a new admin password...which will in turn allow you to create/activate the root account...
