Possible Safari/Firefox issue?

I finally talked my father in law into getting a Mac, and now it appears he is having some compatibility issues with various web sites. He has the brand new iMac with the 20" monitor, and I assume he's running 10.4.

For instance, when he visits this site using Firefox or Safari:

http://daytonamagic.com/

he can't hear the background music, nor view any of the videos from this page:

http://www.daytonamagic.com/Main-Pages/videoclips.htm

When he's using IE, he can hear the music, and the videos work, but appear as tiny thumbnails. I've installed the flip4mac plugin, flash player, and shockwave, but nothing has helped. Please help me convince him he made the right decision by switching to Apple!:)

If anyone knows of anything I can try to help him, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks,
Mike

Same issue. I assume you have tried this on a PC, using IE, and it's fine? Have you tried using Firefox on a PC - what happens?

(This sort of thing always happens when you recommend something to someone!)

When he ran it on his PC the site worked fine. He got rid of his PC when it said he had 80 some viruses on it, and I convinced him to get an iMac. Now he's having trouble viewing those videos on that particular site, using any browser, but when he used IE the background music plays, and the videos are very tiny.

Thanks,
Mike

It's unfortunate that some web designers write poor HTML code that only works on IE. I think your father-in-law ran into one of those sites.
