Hi there and welcome,

What Mac is it ? What OS ?

Certainly sounds like the PRAM battery...

Have you got an OS disk (CD or floppy) to try and boot it from ?

Does it boot from that ?

Hi there,

these are always tricky when not 'hands on'...

Things to try...check the PRAM battery with a multi meter...reseat the RAM and VRAM chips...then ig no joy start from the plug with the multi meter working your way till you find the fault.

Not a great help, but the best I can do with out getting my hands on it ;-)

regards

Ric
