OS X 10.4.6/preference/international/region problem

several applications (sketchup, google earth, ms word) has problem when preference/international/region is set to poland or belgium (or maybe other too)

any body knows something about this problem?
is apple planning to fix it?

Have you used any foreign language file removers such as Monolingual? It sounds like an issue with the language files.
