Mysterious roaming black outline box

704 MB Ram
OS 10.4.11

I was updating an item I had posted on Craigslist and the instructions said to press the Shift key (I think) and the F5 key simultaneously. Well maybe they were referring to PC's because now I have a roaming black outline box that I have not been able to get rid of. Thanks for your suggestions.
