I was restarting my mac in os 9 because I chose a different startup disk. Then usually I would restart back in os x but this time when I started in os 9 it froze so I rebooted it. When it turns on it shows a folder with the finder icon on it and a flashing question mark .I dont have the recovery cd's so what can I do?

info:

PowerBook
400MHz/1mb Cache/64MB/6GB HD0/8MB Video/DVD

Hi there,

can you restart in "Single User Mode" ?

Restart and hold down the Command and S key till you see a load of text scrolling...

If you get to the prompt let us know.

It doesn't do anything. I held it for like a minute. Sometimes when I push lots of buttons a command thing pops up, with writing and where u can type a command.
Is that the screen you want me to go to ?
