moving files between folders, messed it up

So I was moving files from one folder to another, just holding the mouse and dragging files. I accidentally dragged something incorrectly I guess because one microsoft word file got stuck and its just stuck there on everything, like it's on the desktop, other documents, etc. and it's on top of what I'm typing right now too. How do I get rid of that? Also it won't let me open that file.

I've encountered that display bug, too.

I think the easiest fix was to
Apple menu > Force Quit... > Finder Relaunch
