In advance... thanks. Like others I have been pretty lost, but seem now to be making progress in becoming Mac-ized.

I'll be thankful if I can be directed to where in MAIL I can enter the port for smtp... for the life of me I cannot the appropriate box.

Hi teddyz, Go to Mail Preferences / Accounts, high light your account then go to Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) open the bar then go to Edit Server List press Advanced & there you'll find your port box. ok.
