Machine slowing down.

Power Mac G4, CPU Speed: 1 GHz, Memory: 896 MB, OS 10.4.11

Hello and thanks for mac-help.com. My question is my machine seems to be slowing down and almost every time I do something I get the spinning color wheel. What can I do help stop this problem?

Have you done any regular maintenance routines to tune up your Mac? Sometimes that's all it takes. Check out these articles:

Thanks so much for the help Egidio. The two sites were much help my machine had some minor problems and Disk Utility fixed it. If I could ask you one more question what kind of regular maintenance routines do you do with your Mac?

I repair permissions any time I get Mac updates (System Software Updates) and also once a month I use one of the free maintenance apps, such as MainMenu, Onyx, Cocktail, etc. They do a lot of work with one sweep (repair permissions, delete cache, etc.).
