MacBook CD Will Not Eject

I'm sure that millions of these topics have been made. However, I've looked and can't find help for my problem.

My friend burnt me a copy of an application that he assured me would run on both Windows and Macs (he runs Windows XP). I looked it up, and it was indeed capable of running on both Windows and Macs. So I popped the CD into the drive. I can hear the CD spinning, but it isn't detected by my MacBook and will not eject using any of the methods suggested in other topics.

Any help here?

Absolutely. I found this little guide while performing a simple Google Search.

Open Terminal and type "drutil tray eject" to eject the disc/tray, and "drutil tray close" to close the tray.

Andrew: the Terminal thing was the first thing I tried. No dice.

Ric: I searched for about half an hour, and nothing I saw helped.

So none of the guide's tips worked for you? Was this a standard CD/DVD, or a Mini CD?

Nothing worked. It was a standard DVD-R inserted.

I found this to work for me when trying to force eject a cd from macbook.

Try restarting you computer, then on the white screen at the beggining, press the eject button on the keyboard.
