lost folders

I dragged and dropped a folder onto a dvd to burn in finder, and poof..... gone, not on the dvd and now the folder is an empty alias. Here did it go? OS X 10.4.10 Powerbook G4.

Have you looked in the trash? Try searching for some of the files you know were in that folder.

Not in trash, and spotlight doesn't find anything. They are just somewhere......all I did was drag and drop them to a DVD and pooof, gone!
