I decided to improve security and foolishly accidentally gave all users no access under permissions. Consequently, the automatic logon under my username failed. I'm on Leopard and can get partial access (enough to collect all important files!) using firewire and another computer running Snow Leopard. The Leopard was an upgrade and I don't have the instal disk, and the elderly target computer can't run Snow Leopard. I would rather like to regain access! Both computers are second hand and although I am an administrator I'm not sure whether I'm system administrator in either case.
