Overall:
The best portable sound system for your iPod, the iM7 sounds great, feels extremely sturdy and also looks really elegant.
It's a bit bulky and heavy for casual use though and is fairly expensive
Looks Good. Sounds Good. Makes you look Good!

Sound:
This system is beautiful.
Is much sharper and clearer than JBLs sound systems but does not have the same bass and clarity as the Bose Sound Dock.
It is really loud for a portable system - you can crank this system up extremely loud and still won't hear any distortion.
Hands-on:
The iM7 feels very sturdy and its considerable heft adds to that impression. The iPod is placed in a cassette-like holder that features a little lever to adjust the space for the different sized iPods.
Altec Lansing have also included a little remote that features additional sound controls (Treble & Bass). There is a little compartment for it on the back.
The system can either be powered via the included AC adapter or with 8 'D' sized batteries, there's also a handle at the top, so now you can lug your iPod round town 80's style.
The system also features Line-in, Line-out, S-Video out and Headphone out ports.
Dislikes:
The price is the main one. At $249/£175. But you will forget about that after the amazing sound quality. No way to tell Bass/Treble so you just have to keep on fiddling about until you feel happy!
