If you just want to burn the files to a disk that you can read in your computer, just insert the dvd, double click on its icon (on the desktop), drag in the files you want to burn, and click burn.

If, however, as I suspect, you want to burn a DVD to be played back on a DVD player, iDVD is the way to go. iMovie does not burn DVD's. Open iDVD and create a new project. Drag in the video files into that project. If you like you can mess around with themes and titles. iDvd is a fun program and I encourage you to read more about how to use it. Otherwise, just open the project, drag in your files, and click burn. That should do it.

Note: iDVD takes a while to burn disks. if you are not intending to use the video on a dvd player, do not use iDVD.
