I had problem with deleting emails and thinking it I was due to virus I eraged all my files. Then I reinstall the whole system. I thought I copied all my data files/folders before this act, but accidentally, I deleted or forgot to copy one important folder containing many important files. Now I am in big trouble, as I lost them all. I am wondering if there is any possibilities to retrieve my folder and the lost files that I mistakenly deleted or erased before I reinstall the new system.

I use Mac Os X Version 10.4.10, Processor 1 GHz PowerPC G4.

I will be extremely grateful to you for any help you can provide.

Thanking you advance.

Hi there and welcome,

there is still the possibility that the files are there.

Although some will have been overwritten on the reinstall !

You need to download the demo to DataRescue ll and see what it finds. You need an external hard drive as well for it to put the data onto.

There is nothing built into the Mac OS to allow you to retreive the data you will need a third party tool.

When Leopard (10.5) comes out in October it has a backup feature called TimeMachine which will help...

regards

Ric
