hard drive 'read only'

Hi,
i bought a OMISYS 400GB External Hard Disk Drive USB 2.0 400 GB off ebay. Now, i plugged it into my pc, and it works okay, although the first few times it kinda froze up a bit. But when i plug it into my ibook G4 it comes up on the desktop fine but then if i try to put anything onto it, it says it's read only. How do i change this, and why is it working fine on the PC? it doesn't make sense. I've looked and there's no lock swith on it. any ideas?

And now, after i've upgraded to os x 10.4.10, it doesn't even show up on the desktop at all when i plug it in! it's working fine on the pc though?

Hi there rena and welcome !

You will need to refoemat the drive as Fat32 if you want to be able to read and write on both Mac and PC.
