I'm using a mac OS10.4 and getting a message saying that my start up disk is full. ?The information in disk utility says capacity 37.1GB
available 249.8MB
used 36.9GB
number of files 363,885.
I have a lot of photographs and MP3's on the computer but no videos. Is there anything I can do to free up space on the start up disk or do I need to buy an external hard drive, if I do what kind and how much memory would I need to store photographs?

Media files take up a lot of space and very quickly. The best thing is to get an external hard drive and store those files in it. Even 1 TB drives now are dirt cheap.
