Entourage opens new identity, all emails etc. gone!

When I opened Entourage a few days ago, all my emails, data from address book and email accounts settings were gone. It seems that it opened a new identity. When I checked, the databank file was still in the correct folder: Documents/Microsoft Data/Office 2004 Identities/Main Identity/Database. I also made a back up of the Main Identity folder on my desktop, I tried to create a new identity and put this backup in this new identity and then switched identity to this new one. This also didn't help. So, it looks as my database is still there and not deleted but for some reason I donät understand it doesn't display the data in Entourage when I open the program. Any help greatly appreciated. Marie
