Emac flashs world globe when boots

Can any one help .My emac flashs a globe of the world, after a while it turns to a
question mark and mac face alternating. After about 5 minutes it eventually starts
up any avice would be most appreciated. I am running OS10.4

It appears you have the Startup Options set to Network .... this has also happened to me before.

To fix it, navigate to System Prefs ~> Startup Disc, and select your Macs HD and you should be fine.
