Dumb Question

I know there's no such thing as a dumb question... but how do I save what is supposed to be a link to an mp3 off of Safari?

As in I click the link and I quicktime starts in the web browser and plays it, but I want to save it and throw it on my iPod.

Hello, not a dumb question at all. Next time, try clicking the Control key (keep it down) and at the same time click the link with your mouse. When you see the menu pop up, click on Download Linked File and you should be in business.
