Does anybody know when Doom 3 is coming out for the mac? And whether or not I should buy it on my iMac as mine are proberly the minimun specs.

Anyone played it on pc and can comment?

Also World of Warcraft can anybody comment?
How it works, runs, and is it worth the subscription fee?

Doom 3 on a PC was amazing. However at 1024x768 and medium settings it struggled on my 2600+,1gb ram, geforce6800(128mb).
I think Doom 3 will be playable on an iMac, if you have 512mb ram or more. How well it plays is another question.

Wow, how things have changed !

I still remember being so excited when I got given the 32k ram expansion pack for my Zx Spectrum 16k...

1MB = 1024 kilobytes

1GB = 1 048576 kilobytes

ahh Manic Miner...

Everyone,

Here's a neat little application made by Aspyr (Doom 3), that will stay updated via the web, and let you know if/how well their games will run on your Mac and other current models.

Aspyr Game Agent

Check it out, download it, run it, and put your mind at ease.

Enjoy,

Cory

Some people I know have it and say it's pretty cool. It does take a lot of Mac horespower to run though.

No I haven't got it and don't intend to now because World of warcraft keeps me from doing anything else ;)

Hehe thanks.

I'v been revising for my exams for the past few weeks and when I'v got some spare time at home that game usually eats it all up. :p

Hi
Doom3 on the iMac runs fine, I have also seen this running on a Mac Mini!

Yes I know the specs say it shouldnt but it does! Slows down in places yes
and turn off the eye candy but it is playable. I think it will play quiet well on
the new emac as it has a 64meg gfx card in it.

WoW runs fine as well...

I have Doom 3 on my PC and it runs flawlessly with all IM programs, mmjb, and several instances of IE running.

Also - World of Warcraft runs easy as pie on my iBook 14"
