I was wondering what everyones favourite widget was? I am new to Macs and just starting to get to grips with this very cool concept - though looking through the Mac website there are hundreds of them to choose from! I have only (rather un-adventurousley) installed BBC radio player so far.......

Hi there,

my most 'used' widget is this one...

ftp-bone-widget.jpg

It comes with Fetch, and allows you to FTP files by dragging them from the desktop straight to the bone !

Here is a screen shot of all my widgets that I use the most! You can see my iBart widget, decorative. Simpsons quotes generator, iStat nano, iStat Pro, and my Xbox Live gamertag info widget.

searay345, how do you take a screenshot of the widgets? They go away if I touch anything else and key commands don't work if they're up.

Hmmm...that is weird SwampWitch.

I just use apple - shift - 3 and that works for me.

Hey there,

Stick with the apple - shift - 3. How have you done screen shots in the past? You can also look in the keyboard shortcuts to see what apple shift x does. Best to you!

PS, where is the link for your widgets?

It worked! How'd you do that? What's the command called? Am I doing this the hard way?

Here are my favorite widgets.

Go

It's simply the command to do a screen capture. There are two widgets that will do the same with more options: Capture and Screenshot Plus.

Keyboard shortcuts! O.K. I'm remembering now. I haven't been on a Mac (or any computer) for the past seven years.

I was using Preview for screenshots which doesn't work if the dashboard is up.

Ric, my experiments folder is going to be SOOO disappointing. It changes but here it is (below).

Cheers, from

p.s. I apologize for getting off-topic.
