Connection problem for MSN Messenger for I-Mac?

I have just installed a MSN Messenger (version 6.0.1) for Mac on my I-Mac G5 (Mac OS X 10.4.7) but each time I try to connect I get an error message that says " ... the service is not available or you are not connected to the intenet".... But I am!
What is the reason behind this ? ? ? I turned off the firewall it still not working...

you say you have turned off the firewall...is this the one on your Mac ?

Is there another one on your Modem/router ?

How does your Mac connect to the Internet ?

Hi Ric!

Yes that's the firewall on my mac, b4 that i turned off by using apple script mattered,and after that i found out another switch in preferences->sharing->& double check the firewall status,right now the firewall is off.

Yes there's other router i am using my agency's mac.Wierd thing is only mine machine got such problem but the other imac still using MSN like normal.I guess there's something or setting not working correctly in my mac . . .

The connection of the mac is using "built-in-ethernet".
