Close the d-load window?

D

dick

Greetings,

I use the download manager that is part of OS X. After a file is downloaded, the window stays open until I click it to close. I can't find a pref anywhere that will close it automatically. Is there a way for me to have it auto close when the d-load is finished?

Hey Dick, There isn't a preference for it. But there are a couple programs out there that work well. I just researched/tested a program called Saft for you. It works. Here is a link:

http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/internet_utilities/saft.html

You can have the downloads window close after 1 second. There are a ton more features it has. It is easy to install. Thank you for bringing that up. I may buy this. Sorry, it's not feeware. I'll keep my eyes open to anything that may be freeware. Best of luck

***CORRECTION*** Sorry Dick, Saft is a DEMO program. My bad.

Hi there,

just make a note somewhere, in case you forget...

If you start getting problems with Safari always remove all 'helper' plugins/apps and then try again, especially when Safari gets updated...the plugins will also need updating.

Has some good plugins for Safari !

Thanks for that link Ric. I'll check that out.

Yeah....With the 10.4.7 update now, you may need to update that saft program.
