I received a Mac that had been through two prior owners. I was trying to change the user names and so on to consistently refer to my name instead of theirs. I read article HT1428, ignored the warning, and changed the short name of my computer following the instructions.
Now the Mac is unusable since Entourage won't start - "File not found" and various other programs crash.
How do I get back to square one????
