can't download windows media player for mac..

when i've tried to download the media player, the .bin binary file downloads to my desktop but it won't let me open it at all. i've tried countless times. seems as if my mac is the gimp of the bunch.

any help at all, i'd appreciate it.

Then you should be able to uncompress the .bin files...

Stuffit always used to come installed on the Mac...not any more though.

It's a compression software.

ah, i do have it. but since i've downloaded VLC, when i click on .bin file it automatically opens VLC.

i didn't have it. it installed no problem. it downloads the sample .wmv file and it plays fine. i cannot play any video from this website. when i play it in media player, it says "cannot play back the file. file format is invalid". does that mean that the problem lies on the website's side?
