bug in sips?

I am using sips to create newly sized images in a shell script to
    output to html.
However, one problem is that when I build the html after adding a new
    image,
the complete file spec of the newly added images is getting output to
    the html
immediately following the sips command. This only happens on the
    first build
of the html and NOT on following builds. I know this because I see it
    in the log file
    that I create with:

    bash -x myscript > log 2>&1

In actuality, I don't even provide sips with a complete file spec.
    Has anyone else
had this happen and if not, is there anyway that I can redirect such
    output so that
it doesn't go to stdout? It is the output of several functions that
is written to the html file
so it's kind of hard to get around this bug.

    Thanks for any help.
