advise needed for a newbie imac user

Just been given an old IMAC Its the old all in one green monitor and all together.

It was OS 9.0.3 but i've updated it to 9.2.2

Just wondering what else I can do and how high I can update it.

Basically I just want to get internet browsing on it with a good browser and also ability to access my music / photos / videos on my file server box. Currently just some shares on a IP box.

Any help would be great

I think it went up to 9.2.9 on the OS, but a quick check on the Apple site will let you know.Do not attempt to put OS X on it though as you will crash the system depending on how big your hard drive is as it needs 8Gb for the OS alone !!!
out of the box it will either dial up or use broadband for internet so no probs there.

thanks for that I've got it up and running up to 9.2.2 but need OSX so to get SAMBA network protocol

how hard is it to change hard drives in a IMAC whats the largest size that I can fit in there

Just in case I dont have a large enought hard drive

not sure what size is in there
