Good day one and all..

I am currently a little stuck with a VPN problem. My office told me to log onto their VPN and gave me a great tutorial on how to log on with a Windows PC. Not much help to now is it..

So let me give you the information I have and then maybe someone can help me adapt it to mac.
I am running El Capitan and I was given a:
User Name for myself with a password.
An internet address and
A Destination name.
I was told to use L2TP/IP Sec and then was given a key.

Where does what go in order to make this mac log onto their VPN?

Please help a lost soul.
Regards
Terrence.

Thank you for the welcome and the help Cory. I did find this document and I tried following it to log in, but with no prevail.
So here is what I tried:

I opened up network and I added an account... An L2TP account.
I set configuration as default.
Enter into the Server address box my "internet address"
Into the Account Name I entered my "Account Name" (I felt like that was a safe bet")
I then tried to connect and a window popped up asking for a password, which I entered...
This did not work.
So I opened up Authentication Settings and added my key in the Password box. This did not work, didn't even bring up the password window when I clicked connect.
So I moved it on down to the Shared Secret box, didn't work either.

Okay so here I am now. Any thing else I could try?

Try the following:

Authentication Settings...
-Add your account password in the Password field
-Add the key in the Shared Secret field

Advanced...
-Check the box for: Send all traffic over VPN connection

-Check the box for: Show VPN status in menu bar

See if that helps,

Thank you for all the help Cory.
I am now getting a new error: "Authentication Error"... So I think that the key I've got here might be wrong.
Thank you very much for the help!
