Updated, Can't Drag Files Anymore

So I literally just updated my computer and restarted it. I was re-organizing my files by dragging them into the appropriate folders and all of a sudden it just stopped letting me drag the files. I can select them and I can drag around windows on my screen but I cannot drag and drop a selected file anymore. I tried looking up solutions online and one forum said to just close/open my computer which did not help, another said to check the trackpad settings to make sure that the drag/drop function wasn't locked and honestly I don't see that function in settings.

Has anyone else encountered this before? Any suggestions on how to fix it?

Are talking about OS X or general updates, also which OS X are you running?
Try another account just to check it is not system wide.
