I replaced my modem and now my macbook starts to spool if I try to go online (wireless). I now have an identical problem at another location where the modem was replaced. Deleting the problem networks everywhere I can find including ‘network preferences’ and ‘keychain’ didn’t work. My macbook still remembers them somewhere.

I take it you were in the system window showing all items as my screen shot.

Hi,

I take it that your new network shows and you can log into it, and this is when you get the beach ball.
After you removed the old network did you use disk utility to repiar permissions? If not run it two or three times until you have a clear log.
